SOURCING GUIDE
How to Choose a Pet Accessories Manufacturer
Nine questions that separate factories from traders, including the ones we would have to answer too.
Declared bias
We are a manufacturer, so this guide argues for buying from one. To keep it honest, we answer every question ourselves, in writing, below. Ask your candidates the same nine and compare.
Nine questions, with our answers on record
| Question | Why it separates factories from traders | Habby’s answer |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Do you weave the webbing yourself? | A trader inspects quality after the fact; a weaver controls it at the loom. |
Yes; woven in-house on our own looms in Istanbul. |
| 2. Who owns the hardware molds? | Owned molds mean controlled specification and continuity. | Buckle molds are Habby-owned; molding runs at a trusted partner to our specification. |
| 3. Can you show current certificates? | Anyone can write “certified” on a quotation. | OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (No: 2019OK0492); shared on request. |
| 4. What is your MOQ? | Vague MOQs hide a middleman’s stacked minimums. | 100 pieces for standard products; private label MOQ agreed per project. |
| 5. How fast are samples? | Sample speed predicts production communication. | 3 to 5 business days. |
| 6. What is the real lead time? | One-number answers ignore product and volume reality. | Quoted per order, by product and quantity, in writing. |
| 7. What are the payment terms? | Unclear terms surface late, at the worst moment. | 50% at order confirmation, 50% on delivery. |
| 8. Can you develop a custom specification? | Traders sell what exists; factories can build what does not. | Yes; see our six-month band development case. |
| 9. Can I visit the production? | The factory that hesitates is often not the factory. | Yes; our Istanbul facility is open to customer visits. |

How to read the answers you get
You are not looking for perfect answers; you are looking for specific ones.
A real manufacturer answers with numbers, documents and an invitation. Evasive MOQs, sample weeks that stretch, certificates that are “with the office” and factories that cannot be visited are each, individually, survivable. Together they describe a trader.
